Ms. Andrea’s background includes two decades of classical piano study and university training as a coloratura soprano. She gave private instruction to dozens of young performers at the Carmel Academy of Performing Arts for many years and also performs in her own musical projects.
She attended Cal State Monterey Bay and received her Bachelors Degree in Music and Performing Arts, with a concentration in Vocal Performance.
Ms. Andrea has played chamber music, punk rock, and hip-hop on bills with artists like Furthur (Grateful Dead), AmpLive of Zion I, Frederica von Stade, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Jackie Green, Ray LaMontagne, Joan Osborne, Ty Segall, Akron/Family, and David Gray. She is also a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
Ms. Andrea’s approach as a piano teacher and singing teacher connects classical fundamentals with modern applications. Most students have been with her for years, and they’ve grown into confident, competent musicians and people. Her strong background and diverse experience allows them to focus on styles that most interest them, from opera and chamber music to blues, musical theatre, pop, jazz, and rock.
Ms. Andrea teaches voice (singing) lessons, piano lessons, guitar lessons, violin lessons, and accordion lessons.
