Mr. Kyle Chapman has experience teaching students of all ages in the following instruments: guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, and beginning piano. He has the musical expertise and teaching experience of someone far beyond his age. Starting during his teenage years in his hometown (Los Banos, CA), Mr. Kyle launched a successful music lesson studio at the young age of 18 and it quickly became a thriving business where the community could come together and discover their need for art and music education for all ages. After realizing a gift for teaching and a passion to write music, Mr. Kyle moved his growing business to the Bay Area and simultaneously finished his BA in music at San Francisco State.
Eager to grow in his teaching career, he quickly landed a job at Vibo Music where he worked for three years while also teaching private in-home lessons throughout the Bay Area. He has taught students of all ages and levels and has experience leading youth bands.
Mr. Kyle also founded the San Francisco indie rock band Locus Pocus. During his time in the band he composed, recorded, and released many songs accumulating over 400k plays on Spotify. He has played a variety of venues in the California bay area such as The Regency Ballroom, The Independent, The Catalyst, and the Rickshaw Stop. He’s shared the stage with national and international touring acts such as The MC5, Broken Social Scene, and Chicano Batman.
With a blend of contemporary and traditional techniques, Kyle has learned to teach students of all ages based on the goals of the individual. Having over 9 years of teaching experience, his young style mixed with his deep understanding of music from a technical and an artistic perspective enables him to be the clear choice for students wishing to pursue a solid foundation while enjoying a relaxing environment from someone who truly has a passion for both music education and artistry.
