Thank you for considering Opus Music School as your music education provider. Please review our lesson policies prior to starting lessons.
1. Lesson Details
Lessons occur in 30 minute, 45 minute, or 1 hour lengths. Lessons occur once a week at the same time every week, unless you have made alternate arrangements with Opus Music School. You are expected to attend all lessons that are expected to occur in the month, except for lessons that occur on national holidays or that have been canceled in advance with Opus Music School.
Please view the Tuition Info page for our current lesson fees.
3. Monthly Payments
Payments are made on a monthly basis due in advance on the first lesson of each month. The amount due in each month will be the number of lessons in that month multiplied by the lesson tuition rate displayed above.
Package Discount: If 3 months (12 lessons) are paid in advance you get one lesson free.
Lesson registration is accepted on an on-going basis. You may start lessons anytime and the tuition will be pro-rated for the balance of that monthly billing cycle and resume with the regular monthly tuition on the next monthly billing cycle.
Late payments are subject to a $15 late fee. Canceling or missing a lesson does not delay payment.
Payments are accepted via cash, credit card, or check. Bounced checks will result in a $20 fee.
Referral Discount: Receive $10 off your next invoice when someone you refer signs up for lessons at our school.
To cancel a lesson, we require at least 24 hours notice in advance of your lesson time. Any missed lessons without at least 24 hours notice will be non-refundable.
5. Make-Up Lessons
Make-up lessons will only be provided if the cancellation policies are met and are subject to teacher availability. When no make-up times are available, you will receive a credit for the missed lesson on your next bill. Makeup lessons that are missed cannot be rescheduled again or given a lesson credit.
6. Trial Lesson Policy
Opus Music School offers one free 15-minute first trial lesson for first time students. There is no obligation to sign up for lessons following the trial lesson, and as such you have the option to discontinue lessons with the teacher after the first trial lesson. The teacher also has an option to discontinue lessons with the students after the first lesson. Free lessons are limited to one per student. Additional trial lessons can be purchased at $17.50 per 15-minute trial lesson.
7. Music Books and Materials
Music books, materials, and instruments are not included in the tuition and you will be responsible for paying for the materials. Your teacher will provide the music books, and they are yours to keep. The amount due for music books will be added to your bill for that month. Depending on a student’s level and progression, the prices and frequency of new materials will vary.
To terminate lessons, please notify Opus Music Education at least 48 hours prior to the next billing cycle. Refunds will not be provided for payments that have already been charged.
You agree that you are a student of Opus Music School and not of the teacher, and thus agree not to accept any offers if an Opus Music School teacher attempts to solicit you as a personal student. You agree to notify Opus Music School promptly if any teacher attempts to solicit you as a student or attempts to receive payment from you outside of Opus Music School.
10. Media Release
You grant Opus Music School the right to use your or your child's image, video, name and/or associated media for the purpose of marketing and/or business use. These media elements may be used on ads, websites, social media, or in other audio-visual media. You assign all rights regarding the media elements to Opus Music School, who will own the media elements.
All students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. Opus Music School reserves the right to refuse instruction to any student at its discretion for reasons including but not limited to unruly behavior, repeated late payments, uncooperative parents, excessive tardiness, or repeated absences.
Students must be picked up promptly after their lessons. Opus Music School is not responsible for providing supervision for students outside of teaching time or providing childcare for students or their siblings. Siblings of students may not be left at Opus Music School unsupervised.
The most recent School Policies will be posted on our website. You agree to abide by the most recent policies at all times.
