What is Opus Music Festival? 🎪
Our biggest event yet! Experience musical performances by talented Opus Music School students, starting with our opening acts and progressing into the evening to our top headliner spots! Our top 3 headliners will be accompanied by the Opus All Stars Faculty band, and boy are they ready to knock your socks off!
Our carnival games are sure to delight as kids have fun competing for various prizes! Check out our tasty food trucks from Go Fusion N Grill, Kona Ice, and refreshing drinks from I Heart Boba! We'll have a vendor walk-through area. Participate in our community music classes throughout the festival, including 2 family drum circle times!
And stick around for a fantastic closing acoustic voice and guitar set by our celebrity artist, Sad Alex!
You won't want to miss the fun and sounds for the one and only original Hacienda Heights music and food fest, Opus Music Festival, powered by Opus Music School.
To get this big stage experience, this is a life changing experience for some of these aspiring young musicians...thanks for your support!

Management Announcement
From Theresa Cheng:
After being the Founder and Owner of Opus Music School for the past 8 years, I am happy to announce that I have passed the torch to new leadership. I would like to thank you for your support throughout the years, starting from 1 piano student in 2014 in a 350 sf spot on Hacienda Blvd, to now 20 teachers, 3,000 music students taught, 1 trip to NYC to perform at Carnegie Hall, a 2nd city-wide music and food fest, Opus Music Festival…all in my hometown of Hacienda Heights.
As you may have seen, Opus has grown significantly in recent years. This is now the time for a transition to occur so Opus can continue to grow and reach new heights. I am stepping back to focus on family life and my consulting work with Faber Piano Adventures, and will continue as the Founder and Creative Consultant of Opus.
I am excited to have Christopher Scherer as my successor to lead operations and the Opus team. He is a violinist and has years of experience operating music schools, which currently have more than 800 music students. With Chris as the head of new management, I am confident that Opus will be taken to the next level.
For Opus students, there will be no immediate significant changes and we are aiming to make this transition as smooth as possible.
Join me for my last official event - the 2022 Opus Music Festival this Saturday. My farewell celebration to this amazing journey as a music school owner entrepreneur and a thank you to all the supporters for believing in this vision. Now the legacy of Opus Music School will continue under new leadership. 🐙 Hope to see you this Saturday as I do a last performance with the Opus All Stars Faculty band accompanying some extremely talented young musicians.

Hello from Chris!
I am excited to be the new owner of Opus Music School. Music has always been an important part of my life, and I am passionate about sharing my love of music with others. I believe that music has the power to connect and inspire people of all ages, and I am committed to providing an environment where everyone can learn and grow.
I look forward to meeting all the students and families and am eager to start this new adventure. Thank you for entrusting me with your music education, and I promise to do my best to provide a positive, enriching experience for everyone.

Update to Mask Requirement
As of September 1, 2022, face masks are recommended but not required for teachers, staff, students, and guests while at Opus Music School.
Teachers or students may request to wear masks during lessons or classes. Opus Music School staff will reach out to students if your teacher has requested to wear masks during lessons. We ask that a request to wear masks is respected.
When wearing masks, KN94, KN95 or N95 masks are recommended. Masks can be picked up at the Opus Music School front desk.

1. What do you like the most about taking music lessons at Opus Music School?
The thing I like most about taking music lessons at Opus Music School is the way they teach you how to play. For example, my teacher Mr. Beni is always open to answer questions and makes sure I understand how to play before we move on.
2. What do you like the most about your teacher?
The thing I like most about my teacher is he’s funny and he knows a lot when it comes to music.
3. What is your favorite piece to play and why?
My favorite piece to play is “Honey in the Rock” because it has good lyrics and a good beat.
4. What challenges have you faced when learning music and how did you overcome it?
The challenges I faced while learning music is learning how to read the music. I overcame it by practicing.
5. What is your goal with music?
My goal is to glorify God with my guitar.
6. What makes you unique? What are some of your other interests?
The thing that makes me unique is Christ. Some of my other interests are reading The Bible, watching YouTube and sometimes playing video games!
